Club Mareva Beirut is proud to host the Lebanese launch of Isle of Raasay, the first legal distillery on its namesake Hebridean island and one of the most talked about names in new wave Scotch. This is the first time the brand is poured in Lebanon, and we are marking it with a guided tasting through the full range.
Everything Raasay makes is distilled, matured and bottled on a single island of 161 residents, using mineral rich water drawn from a Celtic Iron Age well that filters through volcanic rock and Jurassic sandstone. The spirit is split into peated and unpeated streams, matured across a signature set of casks, then married into whiskies that feel both old and entirely modern.

Five expressions, one island
On the night we take you through five expressions, each poured at 30ml, moving from the delicate to the formidable.
The Draam is the flagship. Lightly peated with rich dark fruit, built from the six cask Na Sia recipe of rye, Chinkapin oak and Bordeaux red wine.
The Chinkapin is a study in a single oak. Peated and unpeated spirit matured entirely in fresh and refill Chinkapin oak, showing what one wood does to the house style.
Dùn Cana, named for the island's highest peak, is a sherry quarter cask release finished in Oloroso and Pedro Ximénez. All dried fruit and depth.
Marsala Cask is a limited release. Lightly peated spirit matured in ex-Marsala barriques, one of the more unusual cask choices in Scotch.
Cask Strength is the closer, at a full 61.1 percent. The six cask recipe with nothing held back.
Cheese and cold cuts will be served throughout the evening.
